The ski resorts of Bulgaria are serviced by two Airports at Sofia and Plovdiv, the season here starting in December and ending in April. The climate in the mountains produce beautiful cold sunny weather, where in some resorts it is possible to ski in a T-shirt towards the end of the season, with up to 190 days of fine skiing conditions and fun.
During the past few years the Bulgarian ski resorts have seen fast development and modernization and are now offering high class service. The ski areas may not be vast but the Bulgarian government are investing large amounts to encourage skiers from around Europe.
Bulgaria offers good value for money, where skiing and snowboarding can be enjoyed, even by the beginner. The ski resorts are well equipped with good ski schools and facilities with English speaking instructors and lift systems.
The three main ski resorts are Borovets, Pamporovo and Bansko where you can avail of other activities like ice skating, cross-country skiing, ski safaris, ice-fishing, in-door bowling, swimming pools, saunas and fitness centres, not to mention the array of nightly entertainment with bars, restaurants and clubs.
