Welcome to this most fantastic area of France, "the Vendee", famous for wonderful weather, beautiful countryside and superb coastline.  The Vendee boasts the second best sunshine hours in the whole of France (Cote d, Azur being the top) and so you are almost guaranteed the perfect holiday.

All along the coast is every type of beach imaginable, from rocky shores with shallow rock pools to sheltered sandy coves and activity filled resort beaches.

Journey times from various ferry ports are, 3 hours St Malo, 4 hours Caen, 4.5 hours Cherbourg or why not take a budget flight to Nantes from London or Bournemouth.

Our property is situated in the countryside however we are just 5 mins from the coast. It is available for holiday rental as one unit but is also available as 2 seperate gites offering 4 en suit bedrooms in the main house and 2 en suit bedrooms in the gite.

How to Get There: From Cherbourg take the N13 towards Caen and after about 50 kms take exit marked Saint Lo – N174. Follow this road until you meet the A84/E401 and take this motorway to Le Mont St Michel and Rennes. When you approach Rennes follow all signs to Nantes (by-passing Rennes). Take the N137 to Nantes. If you arrive at Nantes airport take the first exit from a junction marked “ peripherique sud” (south direction) and you will then come to the exit 48b as marked below. As you approach Nantes make sure you take the peripherique l’est going clockwise around Nantes. (you could take if you wish peripherique l’ouest but this route gets jammed regularly). Go all the way around and take exit 48b – porte des Sorinieres (be careful, it is upon you very quickly!).(Signs here are for Bordeaux, la Roche sur Yon, Saint Philbert de Grand Lieu). After about 1 km take exit 1 towards la Roche sur Yon and Saint Philbert (D178). Then take D117 towards St Philbert and Machecoul. As you get closer to Machecoul follow all signs to Challans (D32). When you approach Challans on the dual carriageway take the left hand fork under the flyover and up on to the Challans by-pass going anti clockwise.(D948). Take the second exit marked Beauvoir sur Mer and at the roundabout take 1st exit to Beauvoir sur Mer/Sallertaine (D948). After 8 kms you enter the village of Saint Gervais. At the church turn left on to the D59 marked Saint Urbain. Within 500 metres there is a new roundabout and we are 150 metres past it on the right hand side.
